The 12th Workshop on the Physics of Dusty Plasmas was held in Boulder, Colorado, USA. All sessions were held at the Millennium Harvest House Hotel on May 17 - 20, 2009. The workshop was sponsored by grants from URSI & NSF and hosted by and organized by Zoltan Sternovsky and the Center for Integrated Plasma Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. This workshop provided space to review the advancement of the entire range of dusty plasma physics in the prior years and defined the outstanding issues. The topics included, but were not limited to:

• Basic and Applied Science Topics
• Laboratory Experiments
• Space Observations
• Theory and Simulations
• Microgravity Experiments

As with other Workshops in this series, presentations included both oral and poster sessions. Additionally, the proceedings of this workshop will be published in a Special Issue of the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science in month, 2010.
